Looking at even more booklets today, I got more inspiration of how to add extra dimensions and make my booklet more interesting.

Shapes used as windows and recurring themes
Page indent, almost like steps on the edge to make the pages stand out
Visual Contrast with pictures/Use of space
The use of folds
Little booklet inside a big one
Foil Printing
Open out booklets
Bold writing, simple but effective
Contrast, Plain page next to a busy one
